OWNER'S PERSPECTIVE: Mostly what this home has meant to us centers both upon our family and friends, collectively known as our "guests", and how we enjoy it when guests are visiting and when we have the lake to ourselves. We are a builder and interior designer by trade from Kent, Ohio (Forest Lakes Development Co.) and we purchased the home in 2008. We re-designed and re- constructed it over a 3 year period to welcome our guests, and to make us feel at home all year long. With that in mind, here is what mattered to us in the design process: Maximum privacy between owners and guests Lower level has private parking and entry door for guests. Both levels have private covered verandas, with access to dock, fireplace pavilion, and outdoor eating pergola, as well as landscape walking paths. Bunk Bed Room for 9 grandkids, lower level, adjacent to parents bedroom, and remote from owner's living area. Abundant entertainment space on the lower level including the kitchen, media room, game room and veranda, for guests to spread out and enjoy two levels of the home making it convenient for different family groups to enjoy "separate but together" conversations and activities. The lakeside rear yard is designed with maximum privacy in mind. The opposing shoreline is a natural wooded forest protected by TVA and local park systems, and has a great view of the historically re-constructed Fort Loudon and museum. The entire rear yard is enclosed with high grade, maintenance free, pet secure, and landscaped fencing allowing pets to safely roam free, and owners maximum privacy. The hobby greenhouse is thermostat control ventilated, and serves as a great wintering spot for outside potted palms and tropical plants. Adjacent to the greenhouse is a sheltered work bench or potting area, with large sheltered storage area. Enhanced landscape lighting front yard and rear lakeside. OH, THE SUNSETS. WE DIDN'T PUT THEM THERE, BUT WE SURE ENJOY THEM FULL VIEW! LOWER LEVEL: The lower level features 3 Bedrooms plus a Bunk Room (great for kids), another interior room that is utilized as a bedroom (you can sleep 17 people in this house before anyone has to sleep on a couch or a floor). This level includes a beautifully designed Kitchen with granite counters and breakfast bar open to the Game Room, large Media Room with HUGE lake views, a large 21'x12' Guest Bedroom, a Bedroom currently serving as a 2nd Office features a large bay window overlooking the veranda and Tellico Lake, a Bedroom currently serving as a Craft Room with lake views, a large Bathroom with double sinks and tub/shower, a 2nd Laundry Room, extra Storage Space, and a 2nd rear set of stairs to the Mud Room. There is a magnificent lower level Veranda with multiple seating areas and wet bar overlooking the professional landscaping and Tellico Lake. Just off the Veranda is a stone walkway to the Covered Pavilion with gas fireplace. Nearby is a Pergola area made just for those fabulous lake front outdoor dining opportunities. The gardener will love the hobby greenhouse, the potting area shaded by the veranda and the lake fed property irrigation system. Just a short walk to the waters edge is the Boat Dock with covered lounging area, sundeck, storage closet for refrigerator and sound system, covered boat slip with electronic lift, there is even underwater dock lighting. All this is surpassed by the sensational view provided by this Tellico Lake main channel setting! Bring your family, friends, boat, jet ski, paddle board, motorcycle, hiking boots, green thumb, (the list is only limited by your imagination) and enjoy life in the 9 Lakes Region of East Tennessee, at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains, on beautiful Tellico Lake!
